Membership Criteria & Approval Process
Regular membership will be open only to practicing human resource professionals responsible for providing services within a profit making or non profit corporation, or independent subsidiary thereof, or an academic institution (collectively referred to herein as an "Organization"}.
First priority for membership is an individual who has ten (10) or more years of human resource management experience and who serves or has served as a senior leader in a human resources generalist role for that corporation or subsidiary. Second priority for membership is an individual who has ten (10) or more years exempt H.R. experience, reports directly or on a dotted line to the human resource professional ultimately responsible for the total organization, and serves in a generalist capacity as H.R. leader for a major organizational segment, and/or manages one or more H.R. functions (e.g., Compensation and Benefits, Training and Development, etc.). An exception may be made for an individual who has ten (10) or more years in line management experience who is appointed to a senior human resource leader position within an organization and who meets the criteria above. Members who meet criteria may vote and hold office In the chapter.
Please note, applicants approved for membership, while out of work, must serve on a board committee for one year.
All membership applications are reviewed by the BAHREC board of directors at our monthly board meetings. Typical response time is 30 - 45 days.
Application Fee
BAHREC charges a $100 fee for membership application. If approved as a member your $100 will be applied to annual membership dues and you will then be billed for any outstanding balance. (Please see current membership rates for details) You will then receive the full benefits of membership which includes program discounts, access to BAHREC's network and communications plus much more.
If your membership is reviewed and it is determined you do not meet the conditions above you will be invited to join BAHREC as a "Friend" and your application fee will be refunded.
